Q. Father is aged three times more than his son Zayne. After 8 years, he would be two and a half times of Zayne's age. What is Zayne's and his father's present ages?

A: Y=(3*Z)+Z; Y+8=2.5*(Z+8);

Y is Father's Age; Z is Zayne's Age

Substituting for Y in eqn 2, we get,

Zayne's Age is 8

Father's Age is 4*8 = 32

Q: Alfred buys an old scooter for Rs. 4700 and spends Rs. 800 on its repairs. If he sells the scooter for Rs. 5800, his gain percent is?

A: Total cost of scooter after repairs= 4700+800 = 5500
